Example Projects:

Oil painting:

These projects begin with monochromatic studies on value before juggling all the aspects of full color. We work first on simple volume shapes for a solid understanding of how light reveals 3d form, before progressing to more complicated organic objects. These exercises are not mean to be creative but rather focus on training the eye and hand to develop technical skill with the pencil to achieve confidence, control, and accuracy.

Drawing:

Projects progress step-by-step from simple to more complex subject matter, each exercise building off the one before. Projects begin with simple shaping-copying exercises and progress to perspective and volume drawing to form and value study of simple volumes eventually working towards finished still life. These exercises are not mean to be creative but rather focus on training the eye and hand to develop technical skill with the pencil to achieve confidence, control, and accuracy.
